Police investigating fatal crash in Cleveland Township

CLEVELAND TOWNSHIP, PA – On Sunday, at approximately 6:00 am, the Locust Township Police Department, Valley Chemical Fire Company, Roaring Creek Valley QRS, and the paramedic unit from Elysburg Fire Company were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Middle Road, approximately 1/10 mile east of the intersection with Hollow Road.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find the male driver, a 23-year-old, deceased inside a 2006 Ford Sedan. The vehicle had veered off the right side of the roadway, turned onto its passenger side, and struck a tree. The operator was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbia County Deputy Coroner, Jonathan Broadt.

The exact time of the crash and the cause remain undetermined.

Police are continuing their investigation and asking anyone with information to come forward. No further details are available at this time.
