Deli stabbing leaves one dead in Queens, suspect in custody

NEW YORK, NY – A stabbing at a deli in Queens has left one dead early Saturday morning.

The New York City Police Department responded to a 911 call received at around 5:30 am reporting a stabbing incident at a deli located at 214-57 Jamaica Avenue in the 105 Precinct.

Officers quickly responded to the call, and upon arriving at the scene, discovered a 41-year-old male victim with a stab wound to the leg.


Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital for treatment.

The NYPD has since confirmed that the victim had died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

During the investigation, officers took a 68-year-old male suspect into custody from 214-53 Jamaica Avenue, where the incident took place.

The individual was arrested and charged, although the nature of the charges was not immediately disclosed. His name was not released.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, as they are still in the process of notifying the victim’s family.
