Ocean City police remind residents and visitor of no smoking ordinance

Ocean City, MD – The Town of Ocean City has issued a reminder regarding its designated smoking areas, which have been created to keep the beach clean and to cater to both smokers and non-smokers.

The designated smoking areas can be located on a map and are situated along the beach. Smoking and vaping should be confined within 15 feet of the waste receptacles located in each of the designated smoking areas.

The Boardwalk is designated as a smoke-free zone, and smoking and vaping are illegal in all public parks, except for Northside Park, where smoking and vaping are also illegal except for within 15 feet of a designated smoking area.

Additionally, smoking and vaping are also illegal within bus shelters or within 15 feet of the same. The town has urged all residents and visitors to adhere to these rules to maintain the cleanliness of the beaches and public spaces in Ocean City.
