Cambridge cop named officer of the month

Cambridge, MD – Pfc. David Whipple has been named the Cambridge Police Department’s Officer of the Month for April. A graduate of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy in 2021, Pfc. Whipple has been serving in the department’s patrol division since then.

During his tenure, Pfc. Whipple has demonstrated a strong commitment to community-oriented policing and has been instrumental in deterring criminal activities in the city. In the month of April, he made several key arrests that included handgun and drug-related offenses.

Chief Mark Lewis expressed his appreciation for Pfc. Whipple’s dedication and hard work, noting that he has been a pivotal part of the department’s efforts to ensure public safety and build trust within the community.
