Middletown, PA Police Warn of Impersonation Fraud

Ryan Dickinson

MIDDLETOWN, PA – The Middletown Police Department is warning citizens about a current scam involving callers impersonating police officers.

These fraudulent calls claim that the recipient has missed court or jury duty, or has an active warrant, and that payment can be made to avoid arrest.

The department advises that no payment can void an active warrant, and no law enforcement or government agency would accept gift cards as a form of payment. Citizens are urged not to engage with the scam caller and to try to obtain information such as the caller’s phone number and the name of the supposed officer.
