Philadelphia Sees Spate of Shootings, One Fatality Reported

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A series of shootings late Tuesday and early Wednesday in Philadelphia resulted in one death and multiple injuries.

Police officers arrived on the 600 block of N. Preston Street in the Powelton neighborhood just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday. Here they found Kameir Scott, a 20-year-old resident of West Philadelphia, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Scott later succumbed to his injuries at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. No arrests have been made related to this incident.

Early on Wednesday, a 25-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his thigh in the alley behind the 5800 block of N. 4th Street in Olney. He was transported to Einstein Medical Center and is reported to be in stable condition.

In West Oak Lane, a man in his 40s was shot in his abdomen outside on the 7400 block of Ogontz Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday. He was quickly rushed to Einstein Medical Center and remains in critical condition.

Also on Tuesday, officers discovered a 40-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound to his forehead inside the basement of a property on the 3300 block of Argyle Street in Kensington at around 5 p.m.
