Traffic stop leads to loaded weapon charge in Severn

Severn, MD – Early Monday morning, at approximately 12:15 a.m., an Anne Arundel County police officer pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of Pioneer Drive and Arwell Court in Severn.

The officer conducted a search of the vehicle based on probable cause, leading to the discovery of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Shamar Marcel Aytch of Hyattsville, was arrested at the scene. It was determined that the driver is prohibited from possessing firearms. Charges were subsequently filed against the individual by the Severn Police Department.
