Greenville Shooting Puts High School on Lockdown

GREENVILLE, NC – A shooting near J.H. Rose High School triggered a lockdown early Tuesday morning. Greenville Police are currently questioning four individuals in relation to the incident.

The shooting reportedly occurred around 10:45 a.m. on the school’s practice field, located at the back of the high school along Marvin Jarmin Drive.

The victim, who is not a student at the school, sustained a non-life-threatening injury and has been transported to ECU Health Medical Center for treatment. The lockdown has since been lifted, but increased security measures remain in place.


According to Police Chief Ted Sauls, the incident occurred next to Marvin Jarmin Drive and multiple shots were fired. There is no ongoing threat at the school, and there is no connection between the school and the shooting, as per police reports.
