Brick, NJ – A heated road rage incident witnessed by the police resulted in a driver being issued a total of twelve summonses. Jonathan Weydig, a 24-year-old resident of Point Pleasant, found himself in trouble with the law after an altercation with another driver on Route 88 at Post Road in Brick on May 12, according to Brick police spokesperson Victoria Finelli.

Officers from the Brick Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit happened to be present at the scene and observed Weydig engaged in a verbal argument with the other driver, causing a disruption in traffic flow. Concerned about public safety, the officers intervened and instructed Weydig to return to his vehicle and pull over at a safe location.

However, instead of complying with the officers’ instructions, Weydig chose to flee the scene. Several hours later, he was apprehended by law enforcement officials, reported Finelli.

Weydig now faces charges of eluding officers, obstruction, and hindering apprehension, in addition to the summonses related to the vehicle incident, as confirmed by Finelli. Additionally, Weydig had six outstanding warrants against him. He was subsequently held at the Ocean County Jail but has since been released.
