WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 26-year-old man was shot and killed early Saturday in the 1400 block of Clifton Street, adding to a string of overnight gun violence in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as Jerome Myles of Northwest DC, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

Deadly shooting in Columbia Heights

Police later identified one suspect, 35-year-old Antone Whitaker of Northeast DC, who was charged with First Degree Murder While Armed. A second suspect remains at large.
