A $60K Big Spin and 11 separate $50K hits fueled the winning streak
BALTIMORE, MD — Maryland Lottery players collected nearly $26 million across all prizes during a seven-day winning surge, including 35 tickets worth at least $10,000 and a cluster of 11 separate $50,000 prizes sold across the state from Aug. 17 through Sunday, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The biggest individual prize highlighted in the Lottery’s weekly roundup was a $60,000 THE BIG SPIN prize claimed by a Baltimore resident.
Her winning Scratch-Off was purchased at Dutch Liquors, 2325 Cleanleigh Drive in Parkville. After uncovering a qualifying “SPIN” symbol, she visited Maryland Lottery headquarters and spun The Big Spin Wheel for the $60,000 prize.
The week also produced 11 prizes worth $50,000 each.
Seven came from Pick 5 tickets, three from Bonus Match 5 tickets and one from Powerball.
Three $50,000 Bonus Match 5 tickets were sold at the same retailer — White Plains Wine & Spirits at 4425 Crain Highway in White Plains — for the Aug. 17 drawing. All three remained unclaimed as of Monday, according to the Lottery.
Pick 5 delivered another seven $50,000 prizes.
Those tickets were sold at Westway Liquors on Edmondson Avenue in Baltimore, Jolly’s Food Mart on North Monroe Street in Baltimore, Maple Lawn Market in Fulton, Sunoco on Germantown Road in Germantown and Wawa on Allentown Road in Suitland.
Royal Farms at 10988 Red Run Boulevard in Owings Mills sold two $50,000 Pick 5 tickets for Sunday.
A Powerball ticket sold at Korner Liquors, 3120 Old Washington Road in Waldorf, added another $50,000 prize from the Aug. 19 drawing. The Lottery said that ticket remained unclaimed as of Monday.
Scratch-Off players also produced several five-figure prizes.
The recently launched Ravens X2 game recorded its first $20,000 top-prize win. That ticket was sold at Circle K, 15617 McMullen Highway Southwest in Cumberland.
Two $1,000,000 Crossword Scratch-Off tickets each delivered $20,000 prizes. They were sold at a 7-Eleven at 9404 Coastal Highway in Ocean City and Cigarette Depot at 8111 Fort Smallwood Road in Pasadena.
Eight additional Scratch-Off tickets scored $10,000 apiece.
Those sales occurred at retailers in Abingdon, Cambridge, College Park, Hancock, Jessup, Laurel, Owings Mills and Rockville.
Pick 5 also produced six $25,000 prizes during the week. The tickets were sold in Baltimore, Bel Air, Bowie, Hyattsville, Middle River and Waldorf.
A Keno ticket sold at Eastern Liquors in Middle River scored $12,000 and remained unclaimed as of Monday.
Racetrax accounted for another five prizes above $10,000, ranging from $10,406.20 to $16,328.40. The tickets were sold in Baltimore, Westover, Eldersburg and Hanover.
In total, the Maryland Lottery said 35 tickets statewide delivered prizes of at least $10,000 during the week of Aug. 17 through Sunday.
The nearly $26 million figure represents winnings from all Maryland Lottery prizes statewide during that period, not only the 35 tickets worth at least $10,000.
Draw-game tickets expire 182 days after the drawing, while FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. Scratch-Off claim deadlines vary by game.
