Armed Man Arrested at Wawa Parking Lot

HILLTOWN, PA – Following an incident at the Wawa on 3520 Bethlehem Pike, Hilltown Police have arrested an individual, Dougherty, who brandished a handgun at another person in the parking lot on Friday, May 19.

Montgomery Township Police assisted by stopping Dougherty’s vehicle and placing him under arrest. Dougherty spat on an officer, attempted to damage a police vehicle, and made threats against the officers’ families. Two firearms were recovered at the scene.

Dougherty was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Lisa J. Gaier of Quakertown and remanded to the Bucks County Community Correctional Facility. Charges include Assault of Law Enforcement Officer, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Terroristic Threats, Possession of Weapon, and General Impairment – DUI.
