Bass River State Forest, New Jersey—A raging wildfire has erupted in the vicinity of Allen Road, prompting the swift response of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. As the flames rapidly spread across the area, the wildfire has already consumed a staggering 120 acres, with containment efforts are ongoing.

In an attempt to halt the wildfire’s advance, crews from the Forest Fire Service have initiated a backfiring operation to aid in containment. Additional teams are working to gain access to the fire and establish robust containment lines.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service has announced road closures in several areas affected by the wildfire. Allen Road, Oswego Road, and Stage Road, spanning from North Maple Avenue to Rt. 679, have all been sealed off, causing significant disruptions to local traffic.

Rt. 679, extending from Rt. 563 to Leaktown Road, has been rendered inaccessible until further notice.

Precautionary evacuations have been enacted to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike. The Timberline Campground, a popular recreational site, has been promptly evacuated to prevent any potential harm to campers. The flames have approached dangerously close to six residential structures, posing a threat to the safety and security of those living in the vicinity.
