One dead in New Jersey heavy machinery accident

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. – An Ocean County man has died in a workplace-related accident in Hillsborough.

On Wednesday, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, alongside Hillsborough Township Police Department, and other agencies, launched an investigation into a fatal workplace incident on Willow Road, Hillsborough, New Jersey.

At 7:27 a.m., Somerset County Communications Center received a distress call about an accident involving heavy machinery.


Upon arrival, Hillsborough Township Officers found a deceased male who succumbed to severe injuries. The 62-year-old male victim, an Ocean County resident, was involved in what preliminary investigations suggest was a workplace accident. The name of the deceased remains undisclosed until all required notifications are fulfilled.
