Police ask for help identifying Roxbury church robbery suspect

ROXBURY, MA – Detectives from District B-2 (Roxbury) are appealing for public assistance to identify a robbery suspect captured in newly released surveillance images. The robbery occurred outside a church at 241 Blue Hill Avenue at about 11:45 AM on Sunday.

The unidentified suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his mid-twenties, is alleged to have stolen a chain from a woman’s neck, to which her deceased husband’s wedding band was attached. The suspect then attempted to steal the victim’s purse but was unsuccessful. The suspect is noted to have a noticeable limp and a large bruise on his left leg. He was last seen fleeing towards Maywood Street. Anyone with information is urged to contact District B-2 Detectives.
