Bill Spadea backed the wrong horses on Election Day and loses most races

TOMS RIVER, NJ – New Jersey 101.5 radio shock jock Bill Spadea who is expected to run for governor against Jack Ciattarelli in the 2025 GOP primary election, is off to a very bad start.

It wasn’t a good day at the track for the likely future gubernatorial candidate.

Spadea toured the state, walking with candidates he supported on Tuesday, only to come out with egg all over his face and, worse, a loss of credibility among voters and state Republican leaders alike.

Spadea backed candidates in four races and lost three of them. In one of the most important Republican strongholds in New Jersey, Toms River, Spadea backed a candidate that only received 25% of the vote for mayor in the state’s largest GOP-controlled town.

Spadea’s only victory on election night came in the form of no-brainer candidate Ed Durr, who has gained popularity across the state since defeating Democrat powerbroker Steve Sweeney two years ago.

But he lost races in the 4th district, 26th district and 24th district, despite beating the pavement for losing candidates and featuring them on his radio show.

In Toms River, Spadea faced his biggest loss of the night, backing a questionable candidate, Geri Ambrosio, who ended up only getting about 25% of the total vote in a landslide victory by conservative Republican Dan Rodrick.

Spadea’s losses carry more weight than wins and losses in the political standings columns. Spadea went against the very people who he will undoubtedly need in the future if he wants to run for governor against Jack Ciattarelli.
