70-year-old woman killed after Vehicle Veers Off Roadway in Yonkers

YONKERS, NY – The Yonkers Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic motor vehicle accident that occurred in the vicinity of 693 North Broadway as of 11 pm on Sunday.

According to preliminary information, a sedan traveling northbound on North Broadway collided with a 70-year-old female pedestrian who was on the sidewalk.

The woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. Following the initial collision, the vehicle veered off the road, traversed a retaining wall, and collided with a residence occupied by individuals. The occupants of the home sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.


The driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old resident of White Plains, was the sole occupant. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening blunt force injuries.

In response to this incident, the Yonkers Police Department has initiated both criminal and accident investigations to gather further details and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collision. As a result, North Broadway will be closed to vehicular traffic for the next few hours.
