Shore church threatened on Sunday police Identify suspect

SOMERS POINT, NJ – Police say an individual who made a threat to a school and church on Sunday is being questioned.

In response to a threat made against St Joe’s Church and School earlier today, a thorough investigation was conducted by law enforcement officials. The individual believed to be responsible for the threat has been identified and subsequently questioned.

As a result of the investigation, it has been determined that the threat is not credible.

Upon receiving the report, police responded to the scene at approximately 10 AM. Extensive searches were conducted by officers and bomb detection dogs in and around the Church and School premises. No suspicious items or threats were discovered, and the area has been declared safe.

As a precautionary measure, all church activities scheduled for Sunday were canceled to ensure the safety of the community.

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, and the police department urges anyone with additional information to contact them at 609-927-6161.
