Beachwood Structure Fire Leads to Senior Citizen’s Hospitalization

BEACHWOOD, NJ – On Monday, May 16, Officers Batullo and Prince from the Beachwood Police Department responded to a structure fire at 226 Beachwood Blvd. The single-story bungalow was reportedly engulfed in flames and heavy smoke upon the officers’ arrival.

The tenant, a 70-year-old male, had managed to evacuate before the officers’ arrival.

The Beachwood Vol. Fire Department succeeded in controlling the fire in less than half an hour. The tenant was transported to Community Medical Center by Beachwood EMS following the incident.


The cause of the fire remains under investigation by both the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Beachwood Police Department Detective Bureau.
