Rash of Catalytic Converter Thefts Reported in Beachwood, Police Offer Prevention Tips

Leo Canega

BEACHWOOD, NJ – On May 2, 2023, several residents of Beachwood, New Jersey, reported thefts of catalytic converters from their vehicles. Late model Hondas appear to be targeted, with the thefts likely linked to the increasing price of metals contained within the converters.

Residents are advised to protect their vehicles with anti-theft devices, motion-activated lighting, and security cameras, or by parking in a garage when possible.

Additionally, having the vehicle’s VIN number etched onto the catalytic converter may deter theft.
