Man Arrested on Weapon Charges After Traffic Violation

NEW CASTLE, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Emory Wilson, a 39-year-old Wilmington resident, on weapon charges following a traffic stop in the New Castle area on Sunday. At around 2:53 p.m., a trooper observed a gray Hyundai Sonata committing multiple traffic violations on New Castle Avenue.

During the stop, a handgun was spotted in the glove box of the vehicle. The weapon was within the reach of Wilson, the front seat passenger, who did not possess a concealed carry permit and had outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, a felony. Wilson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on a $5000 unsecured bail.
