Piscataway, NJ – In an effort to promote safe driving habits among young drivers, the Traffic Safety Division of the Piscataway Police Department, in collaboration with the NJM Insurance Group, recently conducted informative assemblies for all sophomore students at Piscataway High School.

During the assemblies, Ptl. Bill Kloos from the Piscataway Police Department Traffic Safety Division and Mike McCormick, a retired New Jersey State Trooper representing NJM Insurance Group, addressed the students about the critical importance of safe driving practices. The discussions primarily focused on the hazards associated with speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving.

The joint initiative between the Piscataway Police Department and NJM Insurance Group was part of the Piscataway Promotes Safe Streets campaign, which aims to create awareness and encourage responsible behavior on the roads. By engaging directly with the sophomores at Piscataway High School, the campaign aimed to equip young drivers with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed decisions behind the wheel.

Ptl. Bill Kloos, an experienced member of the Traffic Safety Division, shared valuable insights and real-life examples to emphasize the potential consequences of reckless driving. Mike McCormick, leveraging his extensive experience as a retired New Jersey State Trooper, provided additional perspectives on the importance of adhering to traffic laws and practicing safe driving habits.
