“The programs provided by adult care centers are community-based, and give individuals the tools to learn new skills, build long-lasting friendships, and become caring, responsible adults,” said Singer (R-30). “Ensuring these relatively modest dietary accommodations is a win for both patients and their families.”


Singer’s bill, S-2456, would require an adult day care center to make reasonable efforts to accommodate the religious dietary needs of individuals who are in the care of the center.

“On several occasions, I have heard from constituents that it is difficult to select a proper care facility because many do not accommodate religious dietary needs,” added Singer. “My legislation will help rectify that issue by encouraging all adult care centers to do just that.”
