Dallas Man Fatally Shot in Gaston County Home

DALLAS, NC – A man was shot and later pronounced dead in Gaston County on Wednesday morning. According to the Dallas Police Department, they received a distress call around 12:07 a.m. regarding a shooting in the 1600 block of Eastway Drive.

Officers found 25-year-old Christopher Knox Wery at the scene with a gunshot wound. He was transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center where he passed away soon after.

Nicholas Max Tallent was apprehended by officers within hours in relation to the fatal shooting. Tallent, charged with second-degree murder, remains in Gaston County Jail without bond.
