ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A new era is about to dawn upon the iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk as Island Waterpark at The Showboat Resort prepares to make its debut on June 30. Developed by Bart Blatstein, CEO of Tower Investments and owner of Showboat, The Showboat Resort is set to become the world’s premier beachfront indoor entertainment destination, positioning Atlantic City as a comprehensive family-friendly getaway and restoring its reputation as America’s Favorite Playground.
Island Waterpark, the largest indoor beachfront waterpark globally, spans an impressive 120,000 square feet and holds over 317,000 gallons of water. The waterpark boasts 11 thrilling slides, including the Electric Eel, Sonic Serpent, and Barracuda Blaster tube slides, featuring tight corners and exhilarating banking turns. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the head-first excitement of the three Tidal Racers mat racer slides and five waterslides specifically designed for younger guests at Slide Island.
Beyond the slides, Island Waterpark offers a range of attractions and features. Guests can experience the 1,000 square-foot Wild Wave FlowRider surf simulator, which not only hosts surfing tournaments but also provides surf lessons—the sole waterpark surf simulator in New Jersey offering such instruction. The waterpark’s highlights also include the Blue Cascade Waterfall, one of the world’s largest custom water forms, a 30-foot-tall Indoor Tree House available for private parties, the Adventure Pool for various water sports, and the 6,500 square-foot Island Drift Lazy River, which stretches nearly the entire length of the waterpark. For younger visitors, Kids Cove offers interactive water activities within a designated play area. Every feature is meticulously designed to transport guests to an exotic island paradise, complete with an immersive tropical theme.

For adult visitors, Island Waterpark presents six bars where craft beers, curated wines, and signature cocktails can be enjoyed. Paradise Adult Island, a 10,000 square-foot space overlooking the waterpark and ocean, features DJ entertainment and Bliss Pool—an adults-only pool facing the Atlantic Ocean, complete with the only swim-up bar in Atlantic City. During the day, these venues serve as an oasis for parents and adults to dance, relax, and socialize while their children enjoy the waterpark. The adults-only area also offers amenities such as Peloton bikes, manicure stations, chair massages, workspaces, VIP cabanas, and more. At night, Island Waterpark transforms into an exclusive nightlife venue—the first of its kind in any waterpark.
