Newark police seeking woman wanted for questioning in shooting

NEWARK, NJ – Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé is asking to the public for assistance in locating 25-year-old Carolyn Kelley, who is sought for questioning related to a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, June 24.

At around 11:35 a.m., the Newark Police Department responded to a shooting report at a residence on the 100 block of Leslie Street. Three spent shell casings were discovered in the hallway of the home upon their arrival.

Kelley, described as a 5-ft. tall woman with black hair and brown eyes, is a person of interest in the investigation. The public is asked to provide any information about Kelley’s whereabouts to the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
