CLIFTON, NJ – A prisoner being transferred to Passaic County Jail has been captured and returned to the facility according to police.

“Late last night, Isaiah Felix turned himself into the Passaic Police Department. He was then conveyed to Clifton Police headquarters and ultimately to the Passaic County Jail where he is currently being held on his original charges, as well as a new Escape charge,” the Clifton Police Department said today.

In the early hours of Monday morning, a prisoner made a daring escape while being transported to the Passaic County Jail, causing chaos and catching officers by surprise. The incident took place at approximately 4 AM in the sally port, providing an opportunity for the prisoner to flee.

In response to the escape, officers from the Clifton Police Department immediately initiated a pursuit through the streets of Paterson, New Jersey. Eventually, a perimeter was established in the vicinity of Grand and Mill Streets, where a thorough yard-to-yard search was conducted for several hours. Despite the officers’ determined efforts, the fugitive, identified as 20-year-old Isaiah Felix from Passaic, NJ, managed to evade capture before the perimeter was eventually lifted.

Isaiah Felix had recently been arrested in Clifton on Sunday, facing charges related to a burglary and the kidnapping of a family member. Authorities suspect that he may have connections to the Richfield Village apartments on St. Andrews Blvd in Clifton, as well as multiple addresses in Passaic.

During his escape, Felix was reportedly wearing distinctive bright yellow “Crocs” footwear, which could potentially aid in his identification.
