Parking violation leads to stolen vehicle, gun arrest

OCEAN CITY, MD – Officers in Ocean City on patrol observed an SUV parked next to a red “no parking” curb on the 100 block of 3rd Street on Tuesday, leading to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and multiple firearms.

The vehicle, initially noticed for a parking violation around 2:55 pm, was found to be linked to an armed carjacking that happened on June 29, in Philadelphia. City Watch footage helped officers determine when the vehicle was parked and led to the identification of the occupants. Jackson Rodriguez De Sena and Briana Hughes were detained when they returned to the vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a Sig Sauer handgun, stolen from Reading, Pennsylvania. A later call, at around 4:37 pm, led officers to a Beretta handgun at a nearby hotel, identified as the same firearm reported missing during the Philadelphia carjacking. Both Rodriguez De Sena, 18, and Hughes were arrested without incident.
