FREEHOLD, NJ – Julian B. Hart, 39, of Asbury Park, received a 40-year sentence for sexually abusing a child over multiple years, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago on Wednesday. Hart must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence, under New Jersey’s No Early Release Act (NERA), before parole eligibility. He was sentenced on June 30, by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Richard W. English.

The investigation, conducted by the Asbury Park Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Bureau, began in summer 2021 following a report from the victim. The investigation revealed that Hart had repeatedly sexually abused the victim, who was under the age of 12, from September 27, 2014 through December 16, 2015. Hart was arrested and charged in August of 2021, and later indicted on October 22, 2021.

Hart was already under Megan’s Law and Parole Supervision for Life at the time of these incidents. On December 7, 2022, a jury found him guilty of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, second-degree Sexual Assault, third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for the Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials.
