COLLIER COUNTY, FL – Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk has announced the arrest of two individuals in relation to the shooting incident that occurred on June 1 near Immokalee Road and Twin Eagles Boulevard. The shooting left a man and a woman seriously injured..
Dtectives from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Service Task Force and the New Jersey State Police, apprehended Ryan Toranzo, 38, and Rebecca Gabay, 36, at their residence located at 1011 27th St. S.W., Naples. The arrests were made based on outstanding warrants issued by the CCSO.
Toranzo and Gabay will be extradited to Collier County to face charges. Toranzo is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. On the other hand, Gabay, who is the ex-wife of the male shooting victim, faces two third-degree felony charges: interference with custody and removing/concealing minors contrary to a state or court order. It should be noted that Gabay’s charges are related to the June 1 incident but are not directly linked to the shooting itself.
The arrest of Toranzo and Gabay marks the third development in this case. Julian Mendes-Wolf, 28, of 5354 Caldwell St., Naples, was previously arrested on June 19. He is currently being held without bond in the Collier County jail, facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of shooting a missile into an occupied vehicle.
Sheriff Rambosk expressed his appreciation for the dedication and perseverance of the detectives involved in solving this violent crime. He commended their tireless efforts and emphasized that the investigation is still ongoing. The sheriff also reassured the public that all parties involved will be held accountable, promising justice for the victims and their loved ones.
The sheriff further highlighted the extensive nature of the investigation, noting that detectives have expended significant time and resources in reviewing documents, analyzing surveillance footage, conducting witness interviews, and obtaining search warrants. The case has led detectives to venture beyond Collier County on multiple occasions, ultimately leading them to track down Toranzo and Gabay in Monroe Township, New Jersey, where they were taken into custody this morning.
