HARRISBURG, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry has issued a consumer alert to Bucks County residents. The warning pertains to potential home repair or improvement scams following the recent catastrophic flooding.

In her message, Attorney General Henry advised homeowners to conduct thorough research and understand their rights before entering into contracts or engaging services.

AG Henry also emphasized the vigilance needed to avoid potential scams that could emerge as Bucks County rebuilds from the flood event.

Residents are encouraged to contact the Office of Attorney General via various means including online complaints, phone calls, or emails. Also, the OAG has a searchable database for all registered contractors in Pennsylvania.

Finally, the Office of Attorney General provided a list of steps to safeguard from home improvement scams, which includes communicating with insurance companies and arranging for a Certificate of Completion with their bank or credit union.
