WEST SENECA, NY – The Erie County District Attorney’s office declared Jairus J. Kedzierski, a 25-year-old man from West Seneca, guilty of second-degree murder after a five-day trial and nearly 10 hours of deliberation. The jury delivered their verdict last Friday, dismissing the other count in the indictment against him.

On July 29, 2022, at around 11:40 pm, Kedzierski engaged in a physical dispute with Maurice G. Kidd, Jr., 29, on Edson Street in West Seneca.

The defendant subsequently attacked Kidd from behind, stabbing him multiple times. Kidd was rushed to ECMC, where he was later pronounced dead.

Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan is set to sentence Kedzierski on Tuesday, August 29, at 2:00 pm. The defendant faces a potential life sentence with a minimum term of 25 years.

Until then, he remains in custody without bail. The West Seneca Police Department has received commendation from the DA for their work in this investigation.
