BALTIMORE, MD – The Mega Millions drawing brought immense excitement to Maryland as two lucky players became millionaires, while two others secured $10,000 wins.

One fortunate player purchased a $4 million Mega Millions with Megaplier ticket at Lobby Shop, located at 1 North Charles Street in Baltimore.

By adding the Megaplier feature for an additional $1, the winner quadrupled the $1 million second-tier prize to an impressive $4 million due to the X4 Megaplier in last night’s drawing. For selling the Megaplier ticket, the retailer will be rewarded with a $5,000 bonus.

Another second-tier winning ticket worth $1 million was sold in Maryland without the Megaplier. The winner of this ticket bought it at National Pike Fuel at 5931 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville. The retailer will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Two more fortunate players each secured a $10,000 third-tier prize. These tickets were both sold in Gaithersburg, with one being purchased at Watkins Mill Beer & Wine at 857 Russell Avenue and the other at 7-Eleven #11570 at 8946 North Westland Drive.

Although the Mega Millions jackpot remained unclaimed, it has now rolled over to an estimated $720 million for the Friday, July 21 drawing, with an estimated cash option of $396.3 million. This jackpot stands as the fifth-largest in the game’s history. In addition, tonight’s Powerball jackpot is set at a staggering $1 billion.

The winning numbers for last night’s Mega Millions drawing were 19, 22, 31, 37, and 54, with the Mega Ball number being 18 and the optional Megaplier number being X4. Second-tier winners match all five numbers except the Mega Ball, while third-tier winners match four numbers plus the Mega Ball.

Lottery officials advise all winners to immediately sign the back of their tickets and store them in a secure location until they can claim their prize. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Detailed instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail can be found on the official website. Prizes exceeding $25,000 must be redeemed by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore. The Lottery’s Claims Center in Baltimore operates solely by appointment (no walk-ins allowed). Players can schedule an appointment by visiting the official website.

In 2023, Maryland has already seen five second-tier winning Mega Millions tickets sold. The state sold four $1 million winning tickets in 2022, three in 2021, two in 2020, two in 2019, three in 2018, and one in 2017.

Nationwide, more than 2.3 million tickets were winners, with Maryland alone witnessing over 56,000 winners receiving prizes ranging from $2 to $4 million.
