Armored Truck Worker Shoots and Kills Man at Maryland Starbucks

FORESTVILLE, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is currently examining the details surrounding a fatal shooting that occurred inside a Forestville business on Wednesday. The deceased individual has been identified as 35-year-old Jonathan Griffin of Upper Marlboro.

Just after 2:00 pm on Wednesday, police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a coffee shop on the 3400 block of Donnell Drive. Upon arrival, they found Griffin, suffering from gunshot wounds within the premises. Despite emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial investigation indicates that an employee of an armored truck company was conducting financial transactions inside the store when Griffin moved towards the employee.


The armored truck company employee then discharged his firearm, leading to Griffin’s death.

Detectives are now working to clarify the sequence of events that led to the incident, with evidence from the security camera footage.
