PRINCETON, NJ – Beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, the Washington Road Bridge in Princeton, NJ, will be closed between Faculty Road and Tiger Lane.

However, local access will still be maintained between Route 1 and Tiger Lane.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of the bridge, with the work expected to be completed during this fall season.

Attached to the announcement are two detour routes for motorists. Those traveling on Route 1, either northbound or southbound, and intending to enter Princeton will be directed to use either Alexander Road/Alexander Street or South Harrison Street/Lower Harrison Street as alternative routes.

Please note that the precise timing of the work may be subject to changes due to weather conditions or other factors. Motorists are advised to stay updated on construction progress and real-time travel information by visiting NJDOT’s traffic information website, www.511nj.org.
