Philadelphia Officer Struck Amid Reckless Crowd Gathering

Ryan Dickinson

PHILADELPHIA, PA – On Saturday, the Philadelphia Police Department received several 911 calls about a large crowd gathering recklessly with vehicles, ATV’s, and dirt bikes at a Sunoco gas station on 1300 N. Broad Street.

Upon reaching the location, officers observed a sizable assembly. Despite repeated warnings, the crowd remained unmoved.

As the officers began dispersing the crowd, one officer in uniform was hit by a vehicle trying to leave the parking lot.

The Major Crimes Unit of the Philadelphia Police Department is now calling for public assistance to identify any observed vehicles and participants involved in the incident.

In case any of the suspects are spotted, the public is advised to refrain from direct confrontation and dial 911 immediately.
