Police Trying to Sniff Out Bayonne Dog Nappers

BAYONNE, NJ – The Bayonne Police Department Detective Bureau is seeking the public’s help in locating a stolen Jack Russell Terrier, “Rocco”.

On Monday, at around 6:20 p.m., Rocco was taken from the porch of a residence in the area of 41st Street and Avenue E by five individuals, as seen in accompanying photographs.

Following the theft, the group boarded a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train at the 45th Street station (Bayonne) bound for Hoboken. Once at the Hoboken stop, the group took a Path train and exited at the 14th Street stop in Manhattan.


The Bayonne Police Detective Bureau is asking anyone who can identify the individuals in the photographs or has any information regarding this incident or Rocco’s whereabouts, to contact them at 201-858-6925.

Anonymous tips are also accepted by dialing 1-877-900-TIPS (8477) or texting 274637 with keyword TIPBPD along with the message.
