Heat Advisory Issued for New York City

NEW YORK CITY, NY – New York City is experiencing a Heat Advisory until 8 PM EDT this evening.

Expect a hot and humid day with temperatures reaching a high near 90 degrees Fahrenheit. However, due to the high humidity, the heat index values could make it feel as high as 98 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop mainly after 4 pm, which may bring temporary relief from the heat.

The chance of precipitation is 60%, and new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible, with higher amounts in thunderstorms. Please exercise caution and take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
