One Dead in Middletown Crash

MIDDLETOWN, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early on Friday.

The incident involved a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and a 2016 Harley Davidson Soft Tail.

At approximately 12:21 a.m., both vehicles were traveling on DE SR 1. The Harley Davidson failed to maintain its lane, entered the right lane, and struck the rear of the Hyundai. The 47-year-old operator of the Harley Davidson, from Dover, was ejected from the motorcycle and then struck by a white 2022 Ford F-250.


The man was not wearing a helmet at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

The Hyundai’s operator, a 62-year-old man from Dover, and the Ford’s operator, a 38-year-old man from Milton, were not injured in the collision. The roadway was closed for approximately four hours for investigation and clearance.
