NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is investigating a series of robberies involving scooters within the city. The first incident occurred on Monday, June 26, around 9:00 pm. A 23-year-old male was assaulted by two unknown individuals attempting to steal his scooter at Van Siclen Avenue and Glenmore Avenue.
The second incident took place the same day, around 11:00 pm. A 22-year-old male was robbed at gunpoint while parking his scooter near New Lots Avenue and Atkins Avenue. The robber then punched and kicked the victim before fleeing on the stolen scooter. The scooter was later recovered near Barbey Street and Linden Boulevard.
On Monday, July 24, at around 5:55 pm, a third incident occurred where a 23-year-old male was punched in the face and had his scooter stolen by two unknown individuals at Van Siclen Avenue and Pitkin Avenue.
The fourth incident occurred the next day, on Tuesday, July 25, at approximately 3:45 pm. A 28-year-old male was attacked by a group of unknown individuals and had his scooter stolen in front of 293 Miller Avenue.
The suspects in these incidents are described as males with dark complexions and slim builds. One of the individuals is said to have dreadlocks. The New York City Police Department is requesting public assistance in identifying and locating these individuals.
