Town Offers Creative Fix After Spelling School Wrong on Roadway

Phil Stilton

HOLDEN, MA – Workers for the town of Holden, Massachusetts, embarrassed city officials after spelling the word “School” wrong on a roadside sign ahead of the upcoming school year.

Residents and fans of the Holden Facebook page laughed at the misspelling but were also concerned half-heartedly about the education level of city workers who spelled it “Shcool”.

The mistake was made by a contractor paid by the city and not city workers.

The incident happened near Mountainview Middle School. To fix the problem, town officials later joked they would just rename the school to Mountview Middle Shcool.

“We are pleased to announce that the Town has devised a temporary solution for the road paint typo in front of Mountview. You’re welcome,” the town said.
