JESSUP, MD – The Howard County Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist in Jessup.
The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m., when a 2023 Kawasaki Motorcycle traveled eastbound on Route 175 between Route 1 and Pocomoke Avenue.
Devinn Dwight Gleaton, a 23-year-old Odenton resident, was reportedly in control of the motorcycle when he inexplicably lost control of the vehicle, consequently striking a curb and pole. Gleaton was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding police officers.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and an ongoing investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash. In the aftermath of the incident, Route 175 eastbound was temporarily closed for approximately three hours. The Howard County Police Department urges anyone with pertinent information related to the collision to reach out to them, to assist in understanding the factors that led to this fatal accident.
