BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA – David Joseph Jenner, 40, was convicted on Tuesday, for the murder and assault of his cousin, Charlie R. Thomas Jr. The incident took place in December 2021, in Bristol Township.

Jenner was found guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of an instrument of crime by Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley during a 2-day waiver trial. Sentencing has been deferred to a later date.

The victim, Charlie R. Thomas Jr., 43, was stabbed eight times during the attack. Bristol Township police and paramedics were dispatched to the Veterans Highway home for a reported stabbing late in the night on December 19, 2021. Despite efforts from both police and emergency responders, Thomas was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

The conviction follows the presentation of hundreds of exhibits during the trial, including the murder weapon, crime scene photos, and body cam footage from Bristol Township officers responding to the incident.

In securing the first-degree murder conviction, prosecutors successfully argued against the defendant’s claim that the stabbing was a case of self-defense or a suicide frame job.
