Lake Grove Man Admits to Trying to Kill Wife In Front of Teen Daughter

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. – A 45-year-old man from Lake Grove has pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree among other charges, for strangling and beating his wife in front of their 17-year-old daughter.

The incident took place on May 22, 2022, around 2:30 am.

According to the man’s admissions during his guilty plea, the defendant attacked his wife after turning on their bedroom lights, escalating into dragging her to the bathtub and strangling her until she lost consciousness.


The assault continued in the kitchen, in front of their daughter, and carried on through multiple rooms of their home.

When police arrived, they faced a five-hour standoff before the defendant was apprehended. The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for multiple injuries, including skull fractures, loss of hearing in her right ear, and significant bruising.
