33-Year-Old Man Killed in Northwest D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A homicide investigation is underway in Northwest, D.C., as detectives from the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department are investigating the shooting death of a 33-year-old man that took place early Friday morning.

Just before 1:30 am, officers arrived at the 1900 block of 13th Street after receiving reports of gunfire. At the scene, police located an adult male victim who had been shot. Unfortunately, the victim’s injuries were fatal, and he was pronounced dead on-site.

Authorities have confirmed the identity of the deceased as Denzel Greenwood, a 33-year-old resident of Southeast DC.
