One Dead In D.C. Double Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A homicide investigation is underway by detectives from the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch following a shooting at the 100 block of Wilmington Place in Southeast on Sunday afternoon. Two men were shot, and one of the men did not survive the shooting.

Shortly before 4 pm, officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Ballou High School following a shooting report. Upon their arrival, they found two adult male shooting victims.

One of the victims was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for injuries. Presently, there is no information available regarding the identity or condition of the second victim.


Authorities have confirmed the identity of the deceased as Kevin James, a 32-year-old resident of Southeast, DC.
