Teen Car Thief Crashes into Tree; Unsuccessfully Tries to Flee from Police

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – On August 4, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Jackson Township Police Chief Matthew Kunz reported the arrest of a 17-year-old from Seaside Heights.

The juvenile faces charges including Theft of Moveable Property and Resisting Arrest by Means of Flight.

On the night of August 3, Jackson Township Police responded to reports of two stolen vehicles. The stolen vehicles were spotted on Leesville Road.

During an attempted stop, the juvenile crashed one of the vehicles into a tree and tried to escape on foot but was apprehended.

The juvenile is currently detained at the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
