New Jersey to Hold State Funeral for Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver

NEWARK, NJ – New Jersey will honor the late Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver with an official state funeral on Saturday. The ceremony will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 89 Ridge St, Newark.

Lieutenant Governor Oliver, whose dedication and service to the state have left a lasting impact, will be commemorated in a solemn memorial service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Attendees are requested to be seated by 9:15 a.m.

The morning’s proceedings will include an escort to the Cathedral by the Honor Guard of the New Jersey State Police, a fitting tribute to a distinguished public servant. Governor Murphy is set to deliver remarks during the service, reflecting on Lieutenant Governor Oliver’s contributions to the state and its people.
