On February 16, after a three-day trial, a Morris County jury convicted Vinicio Orellana, 45, formerly of Landing, New Jersey on four counts.

He was found guilty of three counts of fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact and one count of third-degree Endangering Child Welfare.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Mount Olive Township Chief of Police Stephen Beecher have announced the sentencing of Vinicio Orellana. Orellana has been sentenced to serve three years in New Jersey State Prison.

The trial evidence revealed that on September 27, 2020, Orellana touched a 16-year-old female on her intimate parts in Mount Olive Township. The incident was promptly reported to the Mount Olive Police Department on the same day.

On August 11, the Honorable Ralph E. Amirata, J.S.C., handed down Orellana’s three-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison. In addition, Orellana will be subject to the provisions of Megan’s Law and will be under Parole Supervision for Life.
