NEW ROCHELLE, NY – A reported robbery near the intersection of Remington Place and Prince Street prompted a response from the New Rochelle Police at approximately 10:43 pm on August 16th.
Two male victims, aged 33 and 21, had driven to New Rochelle to purchase a Sony PlayStation advertised online.
Upon arriving, the suspects directed the victims to meet at a different location than initially agreed upon.
The victims met the two suspects at the new location, and both parties entered the victim’s vehicle. They then drove to two more locations, ending at Remington Place and Prince Street. There, the suspects revealed handguns and took $300 from the driver before fleeing on foot toward Lincoln Avenue.
The suspects are described as black males in their late teens to early twenties, wearing all-black clothing.
New Rochelle Police are urging anyone with further information about this incident to call the non-emergency line at 914-654-2300.
In the wake of this incident, the New Rochelle Police Department recommends that individuals involved in internet-based sales exercise caution when meeting the seller and select a safe location, such as a local police department lobby, for the transaction.
